Memory #1

I enjoy digital collage. It's a visual form of journaling that helps to capture certain feelings through atmosphere and ambiance when words just don't do the trick. This one is simply called Memory #1, because I couldn't be bothered to think of a better title.

The music that I've been listening to corresponds as well. The playlist for this collage consisted of: Jill Tracy and the Malcontent Orchestra, Attrition, Kolacny Brothers and Scala, and The Decemberists.

Obvious question first: What did you use to make it ?

Thats a melancholy image. I love it! I like his sort of things as well. Here is a similar thing I did a whie back.

It was going to be used in a project Feld had going but never led anywhere. The original was bigger and not squashed up to fit on a screen. Note the similarity of tone.

Thank you. I used Adobe Photoshop to put it together. :)

I really like yours as well, and I'm trying to figure out all of the layers. I've worked out most of them, but there's a faded element on the left-hand side that may be the directional elements of an old map? Very, very nice.

I also appreciate the blending of periods. Was this project a war game? Also, What did you use to put yours together?

15 layers if you count the border as one. I made it in Photoshop. It was mean to be a background to a possible forum. Feld was thinking of making his own software and we played about with the notion for a while. I was going to make the various graphic elements and the control bar was going to be a compass rose. It was a bit ambitious perhaps.

The emphasis was on history.
