The film that touched me most is Tarkovsky's "Ivan's Childhood". It has a haunting imagery too rich and complex to be analyzed here, and features one of the best child actors ever. The musical score equals the superb quality of the film.

Another disturbing movie is "Gohatto (Taboo)" by Nagisa Oshima.

Very interesting post and I enjoyed some of the flash fiction.
